VN is a cool, free tool that helps you dive into the world of nondeterministic finite automata (NDFA). Whether you're a student or just curious, this open-source software lets you explore how these automata behave!
With VN, you can take an automaton description and turn it into a nondeterministic program. The best part? You can run this program randomly or even control it interactively! As you work with it, you'll see everything visually represented right on your screen.
The layout in VN is super user-friendly. It has three scrollable panes to keep everything organized. At the bottom, you'll find a text area where all messages from VN pop up. On the left side, there's a graph showing the automata, and on the right side, you'll see graphs that illustrate the execution paths.
You can easily adjust the size of these panes to suit your needs! Just use those little triangles on the dividers to make one pane bigger if you want. Right above these panes is another text area called the path area. This is where you'll see the execution paths of your automaton displayed clearly.
Navigating through VN is a breeze thanks to its handy toolbar. Each button comes with mnemonics, so if you're familiar with keyboard shortcuts like Alt-character combinations, using VN will be even quicker!
