VSTAU Manager is here to help you use VST plug-ins in AU host applications like Logic Pro and GarageBand. This app is super simple to use and has a clean interface that makes it easy to find what you need. When you open up VSTAU Manager, it automatically scans your VST folder located in your Library directory (which is /UserName/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST/) and lists all the VST plug-ins it finds right there in the main window.
This means you’ll get a nice overview of each plug-in’s name, who made it, the version number, whether it supports MIDI, its I/O setup, the VST version, and even where the original file is stored. Plus, VSTAU Manager lets you know if a specific plug-in has been adapted for AU hosts or not. Pretty handy!
In the main window of VSTAU Manager, you can easily install or uninstall whichever VST plug-in you have selected. Want to do it for multiple entries at once? No problem! Just remember that this app won’t mess with your original VST files.
If you decide to install a VST plug-in for AU hosts using this app, it will create a new .component file right in your /UserName/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/ folder. These new files are what your AU applications like Logic Pro, GarageBand, Ableton Live, and REAPER will use.
