With the increasing number of identity theft attempts, online privacy has become a concern to computer users. The websites you visit include trackers to determine your identity and monitor your browsing habits. Moreover, some online services impose geographical-based restrictions. A VPN is a good way to avoid all these issues and enjoy navigating on the Internet securely.

VuzeVPN is one of the VPN desktop solutions you can choose, provided by Azureus. The VPN client enables you to connect to a VPN server and thus anonymize your connection, concealing your real location and identity.

Working with VuzeVPN is intuitive and easy. First, you must create an account. Once connected, VuzeVPN is displayed and you can start a new connection.

The one-window interface displays the location of the selected VPN server and the connection status. There are servers from across the world you can choose but the default one is in the United States.

With the push of a button, you can start the VPN connection. Once connected, a notification popup should be displayed near the tray area letting you know that your Internet connection is anonymized. In other words, all the Internet traffic is redirected through the chosen VPN server, concealing your real identity.

There are not so many configuration settings to deal with in VuzeVPN. However, you can instruct the application to minimize when the VPN is active, so that it does not interfere with your work. VuzeVPN can be launched at startup if you want to.

Like many other applications in its category, VuzeVPN requires minimum user interaction. All you have to do is select the server and press the “Connect” button to get started. All the data traffic is rerouted through a VPN server, protecting you from trackers, encrypting your Internet traffic and bypassing location-based restrictions. While the VPN is active, you will not leave traces behind when online.
