Users spending time online are faced with an ever-increasing number of threats to the health of their computers. As such, programs that offer protection, or that increase the native security of Windows have become very popular among users.

Presenting itself as a HTTP interface for the default Windows Firewall, WebKilit seeks to offer users increased protection when online, by controlling Intranet access and providing URL filters for Internet traffic. The application is designed for the general public and, as such, new users should be comfortable with it.

A few options can be customized to suit more advanced needs, such as new URL redirection rules and the HTTP port to be monitored. The application can also employ WinPcap libraries to capture data, as well as TZSP protocols.

One of the great features of this application is the ability to record all the data and events it parses. HTTP sessions are logged and a separate tab allows users to view detailed information on these sessions, complete with MAC and server data.

But the application is more than just a simple network activity logger. Connections can be terminated and new firewall rules can be defined on a per port basis. More-so, URL redirection is supported and users have complete freedom over the task parameters, including both the source URLs and the destination addresses. Detailed counters are kept for all the commands issued, and their corresponding results and users can even view data in a locally stored LOG document.
