The main goal of this tool is to generate Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) keys that can be used to secure the network connections. Although the algorithm is considered to be obsolete, it is widely used for protecting the data privacy for numerous computer networks and devices.

Security keys are used for authenticating a new computer on the wireless network and are handled by the access point. When the client requires access to the network, the access point sends the challenge text that the client needs to encrypt in order to connect to the network.

The WEB algorithm has multiple standards which offer different levels of protection according to the number of bits used for generating the network key. The app is compatible with all the standards and allows you to generate 64-, 128-, 152- and 256-bit keys just as easily.

The encryption level is set by changing the number of characters in your security phrase according to the required number of characters displayed in the main window.

Unfortunately, the WEP security algorithm is quite old and there are several exploits that can render it useless for protecting your network communication. Other security standards such as WAP or WAP2 are currently recommended as they can provide better encryption.
