Wiki is a cool desktop client for Wikipedia on Mac OS X. It comes packed with some neat features that you won't find if you just hop onto Wikipedia using your usual browser. For instance, it gives you an article history, a smart search function, and a full-screen image viewer, among other things!
This app is specifically designed to help you browse through Wikipedia easily. It has a top toolbar where you can access the slideshow viewer and the search box. On the left side, there's a pane that lets you search through Wikipedia and check out your article history. The middle section is all about reading articles.
A fantastic part of Wiki is that it allows you to search in multiple languages at once! You can pick which languages to include right from the Preferences window—there's quite a variety available. As soon as you start typing, it shows results from all the languages you've chosen.
The app also has another handy search function where you can look for specific words within an article. Any letters it finds get highlighted in yellow on the page—just like in Google Chrome! Plus, if you want to see images bigger, just click on them and they'll pop up full size.
You'll love the full-screen picture viewer that grabs all images from the article you're reading. In its user-friendly interface, you'll see thumbnails of all images on the left side; click on any of them to view in full size.
In summary, while this app may not be the fanciest Wikipedia client out there for OS X, it definitely brings some useful features that most browsers don't offer. Searching and browsing articles is super quick, and those image viewing options? You might find yourself loving them!
