If you have ever found it a bit cumbersome the way your computer OS allows you to resize or move windows about, then read one, you will definitely find Window Manipulator to be of great worth.
In just a few words, this lightly-packaged application provides you with an alternative and more intuitive way of resizing and moving windows. For instance, with its help, you can now move any window by dragging it from anywhere, not only from its title bar. A somewhat similar principle applies when it comes to resizing windows, as you can now resize them without having to aim for the sides or the corners.
To get things started, just download the app's package, unzip it and let yourself be guided by the app's typical, wizard-based installer. Once deployed, there's a good chance you will first notice the presence of the app in your computer's taskbar.
Before we go even further, please note that you may need to run the application with full administrative rights in order to take advantage of everything it has to offer. That said, right-click its taskbar icon and select Settings to get a basic idea of how the app works.
In just a few words, once the app is active, hit the desired keyboard combination and use the mouse to either center, move or resize various windows. If you're not a fan of the default keyboard combinations, you can add custom shortcuts for each of the aforementioned actions.
Now, hold ALT+L and drag any window, from any location, not just the taskbar. Hold down CTRL+ALT+L and click the window and it will be automatically sent to the center of the screen. Apply the same method when it comes to moving the window to its original position by holding down CTRL+ALT+R and by clicking on it.
The resizing part is probably the most useful and the most satisfying if we could say so. Hold down ALT+R and use the right-click of your mouse to dictate the direction you want to either expand or contract the window.
Window Manipulator is a fairly interesting and definitely a handy application. Granted, it may not seem the most intuitive app at first, as it may take you two or three minutes until you fully get the hang of it, but once you do, it's just a matter of minutes until you can fully incorporate it into your daily workflow.
