Wireless Scanner is a command-line application that enables users to view all available wireless connections in their network.
While most users prefer working with graphical interfaces for performing a simple task, some of them would rather input a few lines in a Command Prompt dialog to get the job done in no time. Plus, this types of tools are usually lighter on system resources.
Wireless Scanner does not require installation, so you can drop the executable file in any location on the hard drive and call its process from a Command Prompt window.
It is also possible to save Wireless Scanner to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, and directly run it on any machine to find its available wireless network connections.
What's more, the Windows registry does not get updated with new entries, and files are not left behind after program removal.
Wireless Scanner provides a command for listing all Wi-Fi networks. You can also show data row by row with each field separated by a TAB character. It is possible to view debug information as well.
As expected, the tool is very low-demanding when it comes to system resources, using minimal CPU and RAM, so it does not affect the computer's overall performance. It carries out a scan task rapidly and works well, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs.
When it comes down to it, Wireless Scanner supplies users with a straightforward solution to find out all available wireless connections in their network, and it can be easily tinkered with.
