WPA2Gen is a handy tool that helps you create strong passwords for your Wi-Fi network. We all know how important it is to have secure passwords for our accounts, especially when it comes to private networks. A good password should be long—think 8 characters or more—and avoid using common words or easy-to-guess strings.

Why Use a Password Generator?

If you're tired of trying to come up with a secure password on your own, using a password generator can save you the trouble. WPA2Gen is an open-source option that makes it super easy to generate a reliable security key for your Wi-Fi.

How It Works

The cool thing about WPA2Gen is that it doesn’t have the usual interface you might expect. Instead, it runs in the console window. When you start it up, the first thing it asks is how long you'd like your password to be. Remember, shorter passwords are usually weaker!

Password Length Options

You get three choices for password length:

• Light Security: 8 characters


• Medium Security: 20 characters


• Maximum Security: At least 63 characters (this one is highly recommended!)

Saving Your Passwords Safely

Once your password is generated, you'll see it on the screen and be asked if you want to save it locally for later use. Just remember: always encrypt files where you store passwords or delete them after use.

Your Wi-Fi Network SSID

If you choose to save your password, WPA2Gen will ask for your Wi-Fi network's SSID. After entering this info, it saves both a text file and a PNG file with a QR code that can help log into compatible applications easily.
