The information superhighway is an incredibly huge space, and it’s highly unlikely you don’t have at least a web page you visit on a daily basis. Chances are you store it in your default browser’s favorites manager, but if you don’t specialized applications like WWWIndex make it a little easier to save, and access them.

With a just a little while spent in the installation process, you get to check out the set of features in no time at all. Needless to say that the main window is almost completely empty by default, since it doesn’t come with any preconfigured entries. After adding them, they are enlisted in a table along with all related info field, like rating, name, and URL.

The application isn’t exactly a complete bookmarks management solution, especially since it doesn’t have anything to do with any browser you might be using. All editing is done from the application’s menu. However, it would have been useful to be able to import favorite items from browsers installed on your PC.

Requirement fields to add a new item only count as a couple. Apart from name, and URL, you can also provide a rating from 1 to 10. Sadly, the target website icon is not downloaded, and all websites are displayed with text, making identification somewhat difficult if the list is crowded, or if not paying attention.

One thing to consider in particular when adding new items is the URL field. A website can be accessed by simply double-clicking on an entry, but only if the address is properly written down. This means you also have to include the WWW prefix. In fact, anything with this prefix gets opened in your default browser.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that WWWIndex can help you keep track of multiple favorite web pages, and even rate them on a scale of 1 to 10. Unfortunately, there are no import options to grab existing data from web browsers, nor the possibility to export the table. Some extra attention also needs to be paid to the URL field when adding new items.
