What is Xdialog FOR LINUX?

Xdialog

Xdialog is a cool tool made to easily replace the "dialog" or "cdialog" programs. It helps turn any terminal-based program into one with an X-windows interface. This makes it super user-friendly!

Why Choose Xdialog?

The great thing about Xdialog is that the dialogs are much easier to see and use. Plus, it comes packed with extra features like treeview, file selector, edit box, range box, and even help buttons! And since Xdialog uses GTK+, it will fit right in with your desktop theme.

More Than Just Dialogs

Xdialog can do more than just replace simple dialog boxes; it can also stand in for other utilities. For example, there’s Xmessage—a small wrapper script that lets you mimic the "xmessage" utility closely using Xdialog.

A Bit of History

This handy tool was first created by Alfred at Cyberone Internet. I then took it upon myself to develop the code further to match my own needs!

Requirements for Xdialog

If you want to use Xdialog, make sure you have:

  • GTK+ 1.2.10

  • gettext

What’s New in This Release?

The latest version fixes a bug from version 2.3.0 where the "Hide typing" checkbox showed up in input boxes all the time, even if there wasn’t a password field.
