Description

Xfbib

Xfbib is a totally free and open-source program that’s light as a feather! It's designed specifically for the Xfce desktop environment and works great as a simple BibTeX editor. If you’re looking for an easy way to manage your BibTeX files, you’ve come to the right place!

What Can Xfbib Do?

The main goal of Xfbib is to make it super efficient and user-friendly when it comes to editing BibTeX files. You can use it not only in Xfce but also with other open-source desktop environments like Cinnamon, GNOME, LXDE, or Openbox. If you know what BibTeX is, getting the hang of Xfbib will be a breeze!

Edit Your BibTeX Files Easily

With Xfbib, you can tweak almost every detail in your BibTeX file. This includes everything from the title and publisher to the author, editor, organization, and type of work. It runs smoothly on any GNU/Linux system as long as you've got Gtk+ 2.10.x or higher along with libxfce4util 4.4.0 or later.

How to Get Started

After installing Xfbib, just launch it from the Office section of your desktop menu. When it opens up, you'll see an empty entry screen waiting for you! Hit the Open File button or navigate through File -> Open to load an existing BibTeX file for editing. Want to start fresh? Simply create a new BibTeX file by adding entries!

Add Entries with Ease

For each new entry in Xfbib, you'll need to pick a BibTeX type (like book, article, thesis, etc.) and provide some key details such as title, author, and publisher. It’s really straightforward!

Save Your Progress Anytime

You can also add variables into your entries that you might want to change later on—no stress there! Once you're happy with your edits on a BibTeX file, don’t forget to save your progress.
