What is XMMS2?

Audio Player Only
Now, just to be clear, XMMS2 is an audio player and not a multimedia player. So if you're hoping to watch videos with it, you’re out of luck! This software is built mainly for audio processing and has a cool modular framework along with plugin architecture for all your sound needs.
No Video Support
The way XMMS2 is designed means it doesn’t support video playback at all. Its client-server structure really focuses on audio output and doesn’t integrate any graphics directly into the system.
How to Install XMMS2 on Mac
If you're ready to get started with downloading XMMS2, follow these steps:
- Download and install Macports.
- Then install sqlite by running this command:
port install sqlite3. - You’re almost there! Just open your terminal and type:
"./waf configure && ./waf && sudo ./waf install"This should be done in the directory where your source code is unpacked.
