XPQ4 is a super cool open-source desktop theme that brings the Windows vibe to your Q4OS Linux setup. If you want your KDE desktop to look just like Windows 2000, this project has got you covered!
To get started with XPQ4, make sure you're using the Q4OS desktop. First, download the self-extracting XPQ4 installer and save it right on your desktop. Then, just double-click on it from the Q4OS file manager and follow the simple setup instructions.
After you've installed it, you might want to change your system's color scheme to xpq4_wxp. You can do this in the control panel. Just keep in mind that this won't affect QT4 applications.
If you want to use classic fonts like Times or Arial, you'll need to install the ttf-mscorefonts-installer package from the official Q4OS repository. This will let you enjoy those familiar Windows fonts while using your new theme!
The great thing about XPQ4? You can easily download pre-built binary packages! These packages are perfect for anyone who wants to install the theme on any GNU/Linux distribution—whether you're running on 32-bit or 64-bit hardware, it's all supported.
This theme is mainly designed for the Q4OS Linux distribution, but don’t worry! It should also work well with any other Linux systems that have the KDE Plasma graphical desktop environment.
