What is youtube-cli FOR LINUX?

So, have you heard about youtube-cli? It's this awesome YouTube client that runs right from your command line. With it, you can easily search for, download, and even stream YouTube videos without ever needing to open a browser!



Searching Made Easy


If you want to find something specific, just use the search command. You can type in multiple keywords or even a single keyword! Plus, you can sort the results by relevance, view count, or rating. Want to see just a few videos? No problem! You can choose how many results you get—anywhere from 1 to 50.



Download Your Favorites


Need to grab some videos? Just use the download command! For example:


.\/youtube.py download 'ukf drum and bass' viewcount 10 shuffle

This will download up to 10 videos based on view counts and shuffle them for variety. Pretty cool, right?



Stream On The Go


You can also stream directly from the command line. Just run:


.\/youtube.py stream 'ukf drum and bass' relevance 2 month

This streams two of the most relevant videos that were uploaded in the last month. Perfect for catching up on fresh content!



Handy Commands at Your Fingertips


The commands are super straightforward too:



  • [ or { = prev]

  • } = next

  • P or p = pause

  • R or r = reset

  • Q or q = quit
