Aeskulap is a handy software tool made just for medical pros. It lets you open and view DICOM image files while also giving you easy access to patient info. And guess what? It's totally free! The layout is simple and user-friendly, making it a breeze to navigate.

Installation Made Easy

When you're installing Aeskulap, you'll see that it needs the GTK+ 2.10 and gtkmm 2.10 runtime environments. Don't worry! The tool will guide you on where to download and set them up online.

User Interface Overview

The program opens with two windows side by side. One window shows the graphical interface, while the other pops up in a console window. Aeskulap doesn’t focus too much on flashy designs; it's all about features!

Viewing DICOM Images

Once you've opened a DICOM image file, it appears in the main window, and you can even switch to fullscreen mode for better viewing. Plus, Aeskulap pulls up the study list filled with essential patient details like name, description, modality, date and time, station, and server.

Filtering Information

You can filter the information by name, modality, or date. If you're looking for something specific, advanced searches are available using study descriptions or patient IDs!

Customizing Settings

Aeskulap lets you tweak some settings too! You can change the local AET server name and port number or even switch character sets. You can create multiple server groups for easy recall later and run echo tests as well as edit preset modality details.

Performance Insights

This software runs smoothly without putting much strain on your computer’s performance during our tests—it uses low CPU and memory resources. However, we did experience a few crashes when playing around with its interface and had some trouble opening multiple DICOM images at once.

Compatibility Considerations
