How It Works

To use AppZip, you'll need two things: the source folder of the program you want to compress and the executable file that launches it. Unfortunately, there's no drag-and-drop feature here. Instead, you'll have to use the built-in browse dialog to select both the folder and the app file.

Compression Features

The main job of AppZip is to pack all the files from an application into a single EXE file. This helps save disk space and makes accessing your apps easier! However, this works best with portable applications only. Once you've created the compressed file, it's saved next to your original source folder. The time it takes to create this new file depends on how many files you're working with.

Running Your Compressed Files

When you run the newly created EXE file, it temporarily unpacks everything so you can use your application as normal. Once you're done and close out of it, everything gets packed back up into a lightweight package again. Just remember: make sure all your data is saved in the original folder! Otherwise, any changes might not carry over when you launch it again.
