Arch Analyser is a super easy-to-use software that helps you analyze three-hinged arches and beams without any fuss. It's perfect for projects like suspension bridges, but it can also be handy for things like dams.
This tool is designed to be simple enough for anyone, even if you're just starting out. You don't need to go through a complicated setup process because it doesn't require installation. Just make sure you have .NET Framework 4.0 or newer, and you're good to go!
The main window of Arch Analyser is pretty straightforward. You'll notice that it doesn't have a menu bar or anything fancy, but honestly, that's all you need! To get started, just add a new concentrated load by filling in the required info in the top left corner.
Next up, you'll enter data for UDL (Uniformly Distributed Loading). This includes the span and height of your bridge, plus two other parameters to help figure out the moment. After you've entered everything, just hit the "Draw" button and then click on "Calculate Moment." It’s that simple!
You’ll see a diagram pop up along with all your results on the right side of the screen. Plus, there's an option to save your moment calculations as an Excel file if you want to keep track of everything.
The only downside we've noticed is that currently, it shows loads from the right end of the structure even though they actually come from the left end. But overall, it's a minor issue compared to how well this tool works!
