BillSniff is a handy network protocol analyzer that helps you figure out what's going on with your network. It does this by checking the packet exchange to find any issues.
This cool tool supports a bunch of different protocols. You can work with IPv4, TCP, UDP, LLC, IPX or NetBios, and even ARP, ICMP, and SMB! So no matter what you're dealing with, BillSniff has got you covered.
The interface is organized into sections that make it easy to see all the captured data. At the top, you'll find several tabs that let you view captured packets, statistics, filters, and logs. This layout really helps keep everything tidy!
Now let's talk about filtering options because they are super important! Since there can be a ton of packets flying around, filtering helps you grab the info that's actually relevant. You can choose to display specific protocols and set rules for different Internet protocols—like deciding which ones to ignore or capture.
You can also set up rules for IP addresses, TCP details, MAC addresses, and ports to fine-tune what you see. When you right-click on a packet capture in the context menu, you can copy key details like the time it happened and the source and destination for MAC addresses, IPs, ports—plus the names of the protocols!
If you want more detailed information about a captured packet, just look at the lower part of your screen—it shows all that good stuff.
The support for scripts allows users to define specific sets of protocols that BillSniff recognizes in its packet data display. Just keep in mind that these scripts need to follow a certain syntax that's explained in the documentation that comes with the app.
