EdWord is a neat tool that helps you with text processing, which is something we all need to do at some point. While Windows has its own editors built in, there are tons of third-party options out there. EdWord stands out because it adds a twist to word processing by using speech!
When you first install EdWord, it takes you through a setup process. This is where the app makes sure all the voice modules and functions are in place. One important thing to remember is that you need to have the .NET Framework installed on your computer for everything to work smoothly. Don’t worry though; most modern versions of Windows already have it included.
Editing should feel personal, right? When you start using EdWord, you'll create your user profile or log in with the default one if that’s easier for you. To add a new entry, just give it a name! There are also various options available so you can customize it to fit your needs perfectly. The configuration screen allows you to set user levels and adjust font and grid settings too.
Once you're logged in, you'll see a blank canvas ready for your thoughts! Unfortunately, EdWord doesn’t support any known text file formats yet, meaning there are no import or export options available right now. You can save and load your work within the app itself, but everything has to be created from scratch here.
A unique feature of EdWord is its text-to-speech capability! It's pretty cool because it can read not just what you've written but also other elements on your screen. However, keep in mind that this might not work well with every program or situation.
To wrap things up, EdWord offers some interesting features that blend text editing with speech capabilities. However, both areas could use some improvement overall for an even better experience!
