The folks who developed this library say it's built for high performance but doesn’t take up too much space on your system. It supports all types of joins and includes management commands like ORDER BY, DISTINCT, and GROUP BY for really big tables—think millions of rows! Plus, it works great in both client and server modes, which makes it perfect for mobile systems as well as with the Microsoft ODBC text driver.

Transaction Support

You’ll be happy to know it supports all transaction levels: READ UNCOMMITTED, READ COMMITTED, REPEATABLE READ, and SERIALIZABLE. This means you can have multiple connections going at once without any issues because it's thread-safe! You can use it in embedded mode or access it remotely too. It follows ANSI SQL 92 standards and offers more than 180 SQL functions along with XOPEN SQLState, RMI, Jini, JNDI, and serialization.

Cross-Platform Compatibility

The drivers are fully written in Java so they work on any platform with Java VM support! That includes Microsoft Windows, Novell Netware, Apple Mac OS, Solaris, OS2, UNIX, and LINUX. And if you're into Personal Java or different JDK versions? No problem there either!
