IconIP is a handy networking tool that lets you keep an eye on and control computers over your local area network (LAN). It sits quietly in your system tray, fetching your IP and MAC addresses without bothering you. This app comes with some cool options, especially for those who really know their way around PCs.
Getting this software up and running takes hardly any time at all. Plus, if you're into coding, you can even ask it to install the source code. This way, programmers can dig into it and check things out.
Another neat thing about IconIP is that it automatically integrates into Windows' startup sequence. So every time you fire up your computer, it’s ready to go right away!
Once it's launched, you'll see an icon pop up in the system tray. This makes accessing its features super easy without getting in the way of what you're doing on your PC.
If you double-click that tray icon, a small panel appears showing off details like your IP address, host name, port number, gateway, DNS addresses, and user name. Talk about convenient!
You can also check out all your IP and MAC addresses easily. Plus, there are options to show different parts of the octets right in the tray icon. You can choose how to separate MAC addresses or even edit the system Hosts file if needed.
The app worked great during our tests! It didn't cause any slowdowns or crashes on our operating system. In fact, it uses very little CPU and RAM while running.
However, it's worth mentioning that IconIP hasn't seen updates in quite some time. Some settings might not work anymore—like trying to get remote IP addresses since the site it used isn’t online anymore. But overall, it still provides an easy way to find out all your IP and MAC addresses.
