Informer Widget is a handy tool made for the Yahoo! Widget Engine. It helps you keep track of your system's performance, like how much memory you're using and the CPU levels. But that's not all it can do!
Once you get it installed, Informer Widget creates a cool transparent dock right above your taskbar. At first, it might look a bit tricky, so make sure to peek at the short Readme file that comes with it.
This see-through dock can hold different sensors. You can pick them from a list or just drag and drop them into place. Want to check your battery life? You can do that! Or maybe see a graph of your CPU usage? Yup, it's got that too. You can even eject USB drives, check your Gmail, turn off your computer, see how long you've been running your PC, and check the WiFi signal—all in one spot!
The options don’t stop there! You can create shortcuts for files, folders, and drives. Need to launch a website quickly? Go for it! You can also send stuff to the Recycle Bin or easily move and copy files around.
The widget is super customizable. You can change how far apart the sensors are, set up hotkeys to bring Informer up on your screen, or even add an RSS feed reader or calendar. Want to adjust colors or make it more transparent? Totally doable!
This little widget doesn’t hog much of your CPU or memory either; it runs pretty smoothly. Even though Informer Widget hasn’t had an update in quite some time, it's still an attractive option for users of any skill level looking for good system monitoring tools.
