Java Text Editor is a super simple word processor made in Java. It's mainly designed to be an example for anyone learning the Java programming language. The cool thing is that it’s easy enough for all kinds of users to handle.
As long as you have Java installed on your computer, you won't need to set up anything complicated. You can save the app files anywhere on your disk and just click the .jar file to start using Java Text Editor. And if you're on the go, you can even keep it on a pen drive and run it on any PC! One great perk is that it doesn’t mess with your Windows registry like most installers do.
The interface is pretty straightforward, with a small window showing all the main options. You can easily open text documents using either the file browser or by dragging and dropping them right into the app. It lets you cut, copy, paste, delete, and select all text. Plus, you can view and edit sample text without any hassle!
If you make changes, you can overwrite the original file or save it as a new one by picking your output directory and naming your file. While there are some keyboard shortcuts available to speed things up, there aren’t many other fancy features here.
When we tested it out, Java Text Editor worked really well! It didn't freeze up our operating system or give us error messages at all. The best part? It uses very little CPU and RAM, so it's not going to slow down your computer.
On the flip side, Java Text Editor does have limited features and hasn't seen updates in quite some time. But hey, since it's free and open-source, why not give it a try?
