LanDiscovery is a simple and user-friendly software that helps you browse your local network. With it, you can find remote computers and see which shared folders you can access.
This software isn’t filled with complicated settings, so anyone can use it—whether you're a newbie or have some experience. Installing LanDiscovery is a breeze, and it doesn’t take much time at all.
The interface has a classic look that’s easy to navigate. When you start up LanDiscovery, it automatically scans your local area network (LAN) and shows you a list of remote PCs.
If you pick any PC from the list, LanDiscovery will send out a ping command. This helps it show you the shared resources available on that computer, including names, types, and comments for each item. Just remember, you'll need login credentials to access any shared data on those remote machines.
The software also has an option to rescan the network if new PCs connect while you're using it. You can easily stop the scan whenever you want too. Overall, there aren’t many fancy features here.
During our tests, we found that LanDiscovery ran smoothly without crashing or showing error messages. It doesn’t slow down your computer either since it uses very little CPU and RAM.
One thing to note is that LanDiscovery hasn’t received updates in a while. It offers just basic functions for beginners and lacks advanced settings for more tech-savvy users. But hey, it's free! So why not give it a try?
