What is NetMap?

NetMap

NetMap is a lightweight Windows app that helps you create a visual representation of your network devices. It’s also handy for managing software licenses, system versions, and login info, plus sending email messages to other users.

Features of NetMap

This tool has a clean lineup of features, but it might take some time to get used to. Unfortunately, there’s no help manual available, so you’ll need to spend some extra time figuring things out.

User-Friendly Multi-Tabbed Layout

The multi-tabbed layout lets you easily switch between the visual representation of your network, hardware details, software stats, and messages.

Create Your Network Diagram

With NetMap, you can design a visual diagram of your network. You can include workstations, printers, routers/switches, or any other devices you want to keep an eye on.

Drag-and-Drop Simplicity

All your network components are displayed using icons. You can move these icons around using drag-and-drop support and connect them with lines. Plus, it allows you to duplicate or delete elements and even ping selected devices!

Manage Software Licenses Efficiently

NetMap gives you the ability to track hardware data like system specs (memory and video), as well as manage software licenses for each workstation. You can keep tabs on software manufacturers, websites, email addresses, serial numbers for software products, and upgrade paths.

Gather Statistics with Ease

The application collects stats about the total number of workstations and software tools along with other network hardware. It also shows pie charts for easy viewing! Plus, you can send emails to other users for managing requests or upgrades and generate printable reports that include info about the network diagram and hardware/software data for each item in your setup.

A Handy Overview of Your Network

Overall, NetMap is packed with useful features that give you a solid overview of your network. However, it hasn’t been updated in a while which means you might run into some bugs on newer operating systems. We tested it on Windows 8.1 Pro , and we did experience a few freezes and crashes along the way.
