RogueScanner is a handy open-source tool that helps you spot any rogue wireless devices hanging around on your network. This is super important because it lets you kick them out and protect your sensitive info on your computer!
After a quick setup, you'll see a neat window with a simple layout that showcases RogueScanner's interface. It’s really easy to use!
When you get started, you can choose the network adapter for scanning. You just enter the IP address and subnet mask, plus tell it if your adapter is wireless.
Once you’re set up, RogueScanner automatically goes to work. It scans your network and shows you the IP and MAC addresses of all wireless devices it finds, along with their vendor and model information.
You’ll see useful stats at the top of the screen—like how many addresses were scanned, how many devices were found, active threads, and pending probes. But here’s something to keep in mind: RogueScanner doesn’t let you copy this list to your clipboard or export it for further analysis (like TXT or HTML).
The best part? This app runs on very little CPU and system memory! So, it won’t mess with other programs running on your computer. Plus, it responds quickly without crashing or freezing your system.
Even though RogueScanner hasn’t been updated in a while, it still gets the job done when it comes to spotting those sneaky wireless devices on your network.
