If you are working with multiple applications at the same time, then chances are that you prefer a specific layout for those programs. Unfortunately, not all apps are designed to remember your preferences once closed. Moreover, various changes in the system files can also affect where a particular application window opens.

Save Window Position and Size is a lightweight utility designed to address this issue. The idea behind the tool is to allow you to define and save specific positions and sizes for the app windows on your desktop.

The application comes with an old-school style interface that consists of a single window including 2 separate lists. On the left side, you have a list of the current running apps, while in the right a record of the saved programs. In case you don’t see all the running apps, use the refresh button. During testing, I noticed that the interface of the tool is rather buggy on Windows 11 and doesn’t open fully or allow resizing.

In the middle is the configuration panel, where you can the tools that you want to set specific sizes and positions on your desktop. Simply enter the values for each and save your settings for each application you plan to include in your layout.

In case you want to skip certain tools from being affected by the tool, then you can use the Ignore list. Simply open the option and type in the name of the program to be excluded. Again, I couldn’t resize the app’s window even after adding it to the Ignore list.

Save Window Position and Size is a tool that can be useful if you are working with multiple apps at the same time frequently. As having these app windows open randomly on your desktop or on top of each other can be frustrating, the program provides a quick way to configure a layout for them and ensure they consistently open in the desired positions and sizes.
