SGSoft WordPad is a handy little tool for creating or editing text and RTF files. It comes with some cool keyboard shortcuts that can really boost your workflow.
So, here’s the scoop: SGSoft WordPad has been around for quite some time, but it hasn’t seen regular updates lately. Because of that, it’s starting to lag behind when it comes to compatibility with the latest operating systems and features that wow us today.
If we stack it up against Windows 7 and 8’s built-in WordPad, the comparison feels a bit pointless. Why? Because those versions are packed with more features! This isn’t just about brand loyalty; they get updates more regularly, making them a better choice overall.
With so many word processors available now, picking SGSoft WordPad over more advanced options doesn’t seem like a smart move. There are just too many great choices out there!
But let's not forget: back in its prime, SGSoft WordPad had quite the fanbase! The features it offered were pretty rare at that time, which is why people loved it.
This software has a simple yet user-friendly interface. You can easily create a new document or open one you’ve already started (in TXT or RTF format). You’ll find formatting options like customizing letter color and size, choosing from three fonts, and using bold or strikethrough styles. Plus, you can align your text and add bullets!
You can also pop in the date or use some pre-made text snippets (like “Hello” or “Welcome”). Oh, and there’s even access to a calendar—though keep in mind this doesn’t work on Windows 7.
The keyboard shortcuts really help speed things up! You can quickly copy, cut, paste text, and save documents in either RTF or text formats.
Even though most of the functions worked well on Windows 7 and 8 during our tests, I wouldn't say SGSoft WordPad is our top pick these days. But hey, there’s always hope for a redesign down the line! So who knows? It might just make a comeback!Download SGSoft WordPad here!
