SNMP Tester is a lightweight and portable app that helps advanced users test and analyze devices that work with SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). It's really easy to use, making it great for anyone who needs to check their network devices.
You don’t even need to install SNMP Tester. Just drop it somewhere on your hard drive and click the executable file to get it going. You can also move it onto a USB flash drive or similar device. This way, you can run it on any computer without a hassle, as long as you have admin rights.
One awesome thing about this tool is that it won’t mess with your Windows registry. Once you’re done using SNMP Tester, you won't find any leftover files clogging up your hard drive after you remove it.
The interface is simple—it’s just one window! You can test an SNMP device by entering the hostname or address along with the community name. If you skip that, SNMP Tester will automatically run a benchmark on your local host. Plus, if you'd like, you can set it to start up automatically when your system boots up.
If you need to keep track of your results, the tool allows you to save reports in plain text files for later review. There’s also a Readme file included that explains how everything works inside SNMP Tester.
This app reacts pretty quickly! Sure, sometimes enabling or disabling the SNMP service may take a minute, but overall it uses low CPU and RAM so your system stays fast. During our tests, we didn’t see any error messages pop up, and SNMP Tester never crashed or hung up on us. It gets the job done without any fuss.
