The Helper Monkey is a handy tool for network administration that helps you keep an eye on your servers from anywhere. You can easily connect to your servers using third-party tools like Remote Desktop (RDP), PuTTY, and WinSCP, which are all included! Oh, and if you need more advanced network monitoring, it even works with Wireshark.
This cool application is based on Java and comes in a portable format. That means you don’t have to go through the hassle of installing it on your system. Plus, it’s great because it won't clutter up your Windows registry with unnecessary stuff.
You can even save The Helper Monkey on a USB flash drive or other devices. This way, you can access and control your servers no matter where you are!
When you open the app, you're greeted with a clean interface that shows the current date and time right in the main panel. It also gives you important info about your server like its name, address, user credentials, protocol details, domain info, environment settings, and port number.
The Helper Monkey has some advanced features that might seem tricky for beginners. But no worries! You can always check out the online documentation for help.
You can make a new file to store information about different hosts by giving it a custom name. If you've got several hosts to manage, just edit the source CSV file directly.
What's really awesome is that you can make changes or gather data from multiple hosts at once! You can also add SSH keys on several hosts simultaneously and choose from three monitoring modes (normal, advanced, or disk) to see how your server's CPU and RAM are doing.
The Helper Monkey lets you set up a network trace by selecting target servers and turning on the SNOOP function. You can export environmental links as HTML files too! Want to chat? Activate the XMPP chat utility using your Gmail account so you can add or remove users while sharing info between users and running commands via Google Talk.
You’ll find lots of useful features like printing CSV files or tables, refreshing files when needed, using a built-in text editor, activating command-line consoles, pinging selected hosts for checks, testing connections—and even adjusting bandwidth settings like CPU refresh rates!
If you're looking to remotely control your servers effectively with plenty of features at your fingertips, The Helper Monkey is definitely worth checking out—especially if you're an advanced user!
