What is WIC (WhoIsCalling)?

WIC (WhoIsCalling)

WIC (WhoIsCalling) is a handy tool that helps you grab caller line identification (CLI) information whenever your computer catches a call coming in on your landline. Pretty cool, right?

How WIC Works

This little app works as a Windows service, which means it runs quietly in the background while you’re doing your thing. It keeps an eye on incoming calls without getting in your way. WIC listens to a specific serial port for calls and sends out the CLI info as UDP packets. This makes it super easy for any client that’s listening to scoop up the information.

Customizing Your Settings

The configuration window is where the magic happens! You can change the serial port settings and tweak various options to fit your needs. Want to adjust the baud rate? No problem! You can also modify data bits, parity, stop bits, and even customize how incoming call strings are set up.

Edit Your Incoming Call Strings

With WIC, you have control over the start of string and message length too. If you want to change things like extension numbers or phone number parameters, you can do that easily. Plus, if you need to update the broadcast address or port number used, it’s all right there for you!
