How Does xCAT-Portscan Work?

Once you kick off the scan, you’ll see the ports it finds pop up in the left box. If you click on any of those ports, xCAT-Portscan will dig into its database. If it recognizes that port, you'll get a quick report about which programs or protocols can use it.

Keep in Mind

But here’s something to watch out for: just because a port is listed doesn’t mean it's only used by one program. Other applications can use those ports too! The info you get is based on what was available when the ports database was created.
