AdminService

AdminService is a tiny utility that allows you to gain administrator rights over your computer. According to the developer, the tool is designed for users who typically work in organizations and that naturally do not have administrator privileges over their workstation.

While it is easy to understand that security reasons are the main reason why users do not have Administrator rights, this can also be very frustrating at times. Granted, it can be argued that if you really need Admin rights, the corporation has certain procedures set just for this. Then again, these procedures are often tedious and restrictive as in most cases you can get rights temporarily and only for a specific need.

Functionality-wise, the application comes with two modes that you can select based on your needs, but also the limitations imposed by your employer. Mode one entails you can maintain the account or group in the local administrator, meaning that you are basically adding yourself in the group to be able to make various changes on your system.

You simply need to add the domain or account group and hit the Install button. The program works in the background and its role is to check the accounts in the group every 10 seconds. In case it is not there, it is added without you having to do anything else.

The second mode of the program allows you to gain elevated rights by overwriting the local administrator password. As you probably hinted, you need to add a password or leave the box blank if you want to skip this altogether.

It is important to note that even though you can use the application, this may lead to various problems with your company and the IT department. Considering that the tool enables you to circumvent the security procedures set by the organization, it can be interpreted as misconduct and get you in trouble. You should use it without taking any unnecessary risks.
