Aero Glass Tweaker

Aero Glass Tweaker serves as a GUI for Aero Glass, an application that enables users to bring back the Windows 7 Aero effect to Windows 8, since most of them were disappointed when this feature was not included by default.

Installation is not necessary, so you can drop the program files in any location on the hard disk and just click the executable to run.

It is also possible to save Aero Glass Tweaker to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any machine with Windows 8 installed.

Apart from applying the Aero Glass effect to the operating system, the program puts at users' disposal two options which can be easily adjusted to fit their preferences, namely opacity and blur. You can either move a slider or directly input the numerical values. Changes are applied with the click of a button.

Advanced users may tinker with additional options, such as enabling debugging to a log file, and forcing BoundingRectangleRedraw. Plus, Aero Glass Tweaker can be set to automatically run at system startup. All these settings may be seamlessly restored to their default values.

The program has minimal impact on system resources, using a low quantity of CPU and RAM. It quickly applies changes and doesn't trigger the operating system to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs.

Although its interface is not particularly attractive, Aero Glass Tweaker offers a straightforward solution to applying the Aero Glass effect in Windows 8, and adjusting the opacity and blur levels. Thanks to its overall simplicity, it can be handled even by less experienced users.
