Managing a project requires the right tools and strong organizational skills to check the current state of your work and make plans for future objectives. Relying on agile and scrum software development principles, Agile Commander is a great option for freelancers, start-ups and developers alike.

Upon launch, you are greeted by the dark-themed interface, with organized panels that monitor ongoing and completed tasks, accepted and new objectives, or deleted ones. Each of these panels can be closed to unclutter the workspace: just keep whatever you feel is important for a particular project.

Each project can be assigned a name and a relevant description to reveal its purposes, the working team, and notes about the target objectives to accomplish. Several so-called stories can be added to the project page to log information regarding features, found bugs, infrastructure (for instance, software or hardware requirements), and releases to the public.

Stories can be assigned different states, depending on the project stage. In other words, once a task is started, you can change its state as the project progresses. For instance, a task that is in the "to evaluate" or the "to verify" states requires further attention from the development team, while the "to deliver" state means the project is ready to be delivered to the client.

Agile Commander automatically generates a complete statistical report about each project, computing its duration, the number of stories, the progress made so far, fixed bugs and achieved features, the number of releases, and a few averages to reflect the overall performance of the team. The report can be exported to ODT format and saved for later reference.

Agile Commander makes it easier for a scrum master or a project manager to closely track the progress of the development team as a project develops. A priority system for stories or a way to assign certain tasks to certain team members within the application are examples of features that would add to its value. Overall, it is a handy application for project managers and individual developers.
