Aldo's Magnifier

Aldo's Magnifier is a lightweight and portable tool that facilitates a large magnification window to help you view specific parts of the screen enhanced. It has an adjustable size and can capture images shown in the magnifier.

The entire application's packed in just one file that can be saved anywhere on the disk or copied to a USB flash drive, in order to seamlessly launch Aldo's Magnifier on any PC without previous setup. It doesn't change Windows registry settings, create files on the disk without your permission, or need DLLs to run.

It creates an icon in the taskbar notifications area at startup and shows the magnification window, which can be temporarily hidden. The app is minimally invasive and lets you carry on with your regular PC activity without interruptions.

It's possible to increase zoom up to 8X, capture the image inside the window and copy it to the Clipboard or directly print it, disable the mouse arrow, or invert colors within the window.

You can enable high contrast for the entire desktop, restore the window to its default size, freeze the frame to the current image, lock the magnifier position, as well as ask the tool to stay on top of other windows. Keyboard shortcuts are supported.

It didn't put a strain on the overall performance of the computer in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to function normally. We haven't come across any stability issues, since it didn't hang, crash or indicate errors.

On the other hand, the FPS didn't live up to our expectations, as there were noticeable delay times. We must also take into account that Aldo's Magnifier hasn't received updates for a long time.
