Shake To Find is a neat little feature that comes with OS X. This function makes the mouse pointer bigger for a short time, helping the user find it on the screen, or screens. If you are a Windows user and this idea sounds interesting, AngryMouse might be of help. This lightweight tool makes sure you always find your cursor when it gets outside the screen bounds. Especially handy for individuals with wide screens or multi-monitor setups.

AngryMouse moves to the system tray when installed and launched. Use its icon to access the Settings area. There are two sliders that let you adjust the cursor size and animation length.

The cursor size sits on a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 expands your cursor up to two or three inches on the screen. The animation part refers to the visible expansion of the mouse pointer. Simply put, when the mouse is shaken, the pointer will inflate according to its size value, then deflate after the animation interval expires. The animation persists for a maximum of one second after the mouse has stopped shaking. The scale is expressed in milliseconds, so the choices span from 0 to 100.

An interesting observation in relation to the cursor's shape if the shaking is prolonged. If you keep shaking the mouse for an indefinite amount of time, the pointer will not deflate.

If the problem of losing the cursor is a daily struggle, you might want to instruct the app to launch by itself when the OS loads up. Go to the same menu from where you've accessed the Settings and click 'Run at Windows startup'.

AngryMouse, in short, is a QOL tool for those who tend to get their mouse pointers stuck outside screen bounds. When active, the program will inflate the cursor considerably, giving out its position. The app does not trigger the animation for swift moves along the screens, only when the mouse is aggressively shaken, so it won't interfere with daily tasks.
