AS-AESCTR Text

If you are among the skeptics when it comes to data privacy on the Internet, then you probably want to encrypt the messages you are sending via messaging applications or other similar means, even if, usually, such applications have their own security systems in place. While there are complex encryption tools out there, a simple one, such as AS-AESCTR Text, can do just fine when trying to hide a simple text message.

Relying on the 256-bit AES encryption algorithm, AS-AESCTR Text manages to encrypt plain text messages. An extra security measure is taken by the application, which uses a key strengthening method to make sure the encryption key cannot be intercepted.

The first thing you will probably notice when running AS-AESCTR Text is the minimalistic interface layout. The one-window interface comprises just a few fields that have to be filled in. Evidently, the first one is dedicated to the piece of text you want to encrypt, while the next fields enable you to enter a password of your choice and the so-called "Nonce" value (a mandatory string used for extra security).

Once all the fields are filled in, you just have to press the "Encrypt" button, and the encrypted text will replace the original one. You can copy and share it to your interlocutor who, with the right password and Nonce value, can decrypt it using the AS-AESCTR Text. Keep in mind that the compatibility between versions or revisions of AS-AESCTR Text is not guaranteed, so make sure to save a copy of the application.

AS-AESCTR Text is simple, requires no installation, and performs basic AES encryption of a piece of text without too much hassle. However, it does not rise to the reliability and the confidence of some of its competitors, which allow the usage of additional encryption algorithms, feature built-in password generators, and more.
