You may have noticed that, after using your computer for several weeks or months, there is a lot less disk space for you to work with even if you do not store a significant number of files on your hard drive.

AScaner is a fairly straightforward program that aims to find and delete junk files that no longer serve any purpose but use up a lot of valuable disk space. It is lightweight and very easy to use, but it offers a rather limited number of features.

Similar applications are often burdened with cluttered UIs that can be very confusing for inexperienced users, but this is not the case with AScaner. The program features a minimalistic user interface and requires no complex configurations.

However, it should be noted that the application window cannot be resized, which is why it is sometimes difficult to browse through the results. Also, the entries cannot be sorted or filtered in any way.

The program scans your computer for logs, cache data, temporary files, cookies and more. These items can usually be deleted safely, but it may still be wise to analyze the results to ensure no important files are removed.

When browsing through the results, you can open each item’s containing folder and remove it from the list, as well as export the data to a report file.

Unfortunately, though, it is not possible to limit the scan to certain file categories, should you, for instance, only wish to remove temporary files or cache data.

Naturally, a junk cleaner that creates temporary files of its own would not be particularly useful, but AScaner does not leave any traces behind when it is run.

The application does not need to be installed on your computer beforehand, which means it can be deployed and removed in seconds.

AScaner is a straightforward, lightweight utility that enables you to find and remove unnecessary files in order to free up disk space. It could use some improvements, as well as a few additional features, but it is a great tool for those who need a quick and simple junk cleaner.
