Auditor of dead pixel

If you suspect your monitor has dead pixels and need to get it fixed, you can turn to various software applications designed to help you identify the exact position of the dead pixels.

This can be done by covering the entire screen with different colors so that you can observe the small dots that didn't get filled with color (in contrast). Such a tool is Auditor of dead pixel, a lightweight program that was specially made for TFT and LCD monitors.

The utility can make the whole screen black, blue, white, red or green. Due to the nature of the application, you shouldn't use it if you have epilepsy or suffer crisis caused by rapid color switching.

Auditor of dead pixel isn't packed in a setup file, so you can open the downloaded file to immediately launch the app. However, it depends on .NET Framework, so make sure to have it installed or the tool won't work.

When it comes to the graphical interface, Auditor of dead pixel has a single window that displays all options put at your disposal.

To turn the whole screen into a particular color, you just have to press its button. It can also go through all colors in a random order and within a specific time interval, which you can adjust by moving a slider. To exit the color changing mode, press the Esc key.

There are no other notable options provided by the software developer. The utility isn't designed to calculate the number of dead pixels or their coordinates and generate reports. Instead, you have to look for them on the screen by yourself.

All aspects considered, Auditor of dead pixel doesn't bring anything new to the table when compared to other dead pixel programs, but it's small-sized and easy to use.

Unfortunately, it didn't work on newer Windows models in our tests, probably because it hasn't been updated for a long time and has compatibility issues.
