Getting Started with BackupGoo

You can kick things off by setting up a single Gmail account or using a Google Apps domain with an admin account. Don't forget to pick where you want to store your backups on your local disk.

Account Permissions

When you're setting up your account, BackupGoo needs access to your Google account. This means it can view and manage your emails and Drive files, see who you are on Google, check your email address, and handle your calendars and contacts. You can't change this access during setup, but if you decide later that you don't want it anymore, you can revoke access from your Google account.

Backing Up Multiple Accounts

If you have more than one Gmail account, you can add them all to BackupGoo for backups at the same time! While it’s running, you'll see stats about what’s being processed—like total emails, calendars, contacts, Drive files—and any errors that pop up. If you're not happy with how things are going, feel free to cancel the task anytime. You can also choose to exclude certain items from being backed up.

Check Your Backups

For every account added in BackupGoo, you can check the details of the last backup for Gmail, Drive, calendars, and contacts. Plus, there's an option to open the backup folder in your file explorer so you can see everything saved just like it was originally—no compression here! If needed, you can even make accounts inactive temporarily or remove them completely from BackupGoo.

Scheduling Backups

You can set up regular backup jobs by integrating BackupGoo into Windows autostart. This way they’ll run automatically at fixed intervals! You also have options to enable internal domain authentication or edit various settings like maximum log file size.

Selecting File Types

You get to choose which file types you'd like to download from Drive too! Whether it's documents (like PDF or DOCX), drawings (PDF or JPEG), spreadsheets (PDF or XLSX), or presentations (PDF or PPTX)—it’s all covered! Plus BackupGoo saves metadata and files shared with you and even lets you fetch data from the trash folder in Drive.

User-Friendly Experience

The program is lightweight on system resources; our tests showed it uses low CPU and moderate RAM while performing backups quickly without causing any hang-ups on your OS.
