Beast Lock!

We all have at least one troublesome work college or friend who keeps messing with our documents and folders, changes various properties, and installs unwanted programs, which might affect the system's performance or modify the core files. Plus, who likes to have its items being messed up by unknown people? That's why some creative companies and individuals designed different apps, some more sophisticated than others to protect your desktop from being accessed.

Beast Lock! is a comprehensive yet approachable program that comes bundled with several customizations to help you lock your screen while you're away to enjoy your meal. The setup is uncomplicated and finished in a blink of an eye, and the interface is tidy and simple. It comes with two individual components, the configuration panel, and the actual locker. If you encounter problems, check if 'TABCTL32.OCX' is present in the destination folder.

Make sure you first set up all the necessary settings before launching the second utility, as you might end up with your desktop locked, an unknown key and with one choice: restarting your computer. It displays three different tabs, where you can choose the desired password and enable the locked window for which you can apply a default skin and a position.

You have the option to use screen overlay, pick the mode you want for your monitor, tint or image. For the first method, three color sliders are offered, along with opacity and a previewer. Regarding the picture mode, the tool lets you apply your favorite photo as a wallpaper, pick the position and the fill tint.

Once done, you can easily run the "Lock now" command and decide if you are happy with the output. Make sure to hit the "apply" button after modifying an element, and start both components in the same rights. (e.g. user, admin).

Taking everything into consideration, Beast Lock! is a useful and intuitive tool created to provide a simple yet efficient way to customize the look of the monitor while it's in lock mode. During our testing, the utility didn't encounter errors nor consumed too many resources.
