Bigger Directories is a handy application that helps you deal with annoying file path issues in Windows. Have you ever tried moving or copying files and ended up with an error saying the system can't find the file? Yeah, that's because Windows limits path lengths to just 260 characters. Frustrating, right?
This tool lets you manage and work around that pesky MAX_PATH limit. With Bigger Directories, you can create folder repositories filled with temporary files, which is super useful! These repositories can handle about 1,000 folders and go as deep as 2,000 folders nested within each other.
Now, while it sounds great, there are some limits. You can only create folders at the root of your drive. So if you're hoping to revisit different nodes in your folder trees later on, that's not gonna happen. Plus, this tool doesn't work with symbolic links or Shell objects.
But hey, don't let those limitations get you down! The main goal of this app is to help solve a problem Microsoft has struggled with for years. It might not be the prettiest solution out there, but it gets the job done by letting you move files easily. Just drag and drop from Explorer to transfer your files and folders wherever you need them!
If you're looking for an easy way to manage your files without running into those annoying path errors, check out Bigger Directories. It's definitely worth a try!
