No matter where you lived, there was a public phonebook with all the necessary details to find someone, only by its name or address. Now, we use our personal mobile phones to store and organize in distinct groups, hundreds of contacts. Plus, nowadays, we opt for more sophisticated or simpler apps that are much easier to use and have a larger storing capacity than the Yellow Pages.

Boy's Address Book is an approachable and accessible application that offers an uncomplicated way to enter and manage your contacts, while it's wrapped in a basic and outdated interface. All fields and functions are positioned in plain sight. The tool doesn't require an installation, as the core files come packed in an archive. The executable can be copied to an external pen and run directly on any PC.

The interface consists of a single panel with several fields on the left part, while on the right, you can find the other options. When starting the utility, you are asked for an username and password, which you can find in the TXT file included into the folder. A big downside is the bothersome background, which, sadly, can't be modified to another color or theme.

To start, just fill in the necessary information, such as full name, address, postcode, nickname, email, and phone number. It's possible to quickly browse through entries, using the navigational buttons. The predefined login credentials can be modified to different ones, from the menu.

It could've been nice if the app offered options to change the visual look, to a more suitable one, provide more fields for co-workers and customers, profile pictures, and eventually a primary editor to write optional notes. Plus, you don't have the ability to export the database to a specific file format for further use.

Taking everything into consideration, Boy's Address Book is a small and basic tool designed only for those who want a practical program to enter and view personal contacts. Due to the fact that it's portable, it doesn't leave anything behind after removal, nor traces in the registry.
