Networks are found everywhere, from natural formations, transportation systems to the Internet. But when it comes to industries, pipe systems form the main network that keep the specific industry running. They need to withstand extreme conditions and with the help of applications like Caepipe you can put the entire network to the test in a safe, virtual environment to see if any modifications need to be made.
Even though the application seems like it's intended for advanced users, the simple manner in which it is designed can get anyone up and running in a jiffy. Three main windows provide all necessary tools you get to work with, one displaying the current model either rendered or in a schematic view, while the other two let you analyze each piece that forms the whole network.
The application is strictly related to analysis, with no possibilities to create structures, so you need to come with your own MOD file to test out. However, values in the given tables can be altered, with an overall impact on the whole design, as well as the graphics view.
The layout window is where most task are performed, with a table displaying each and every element in your network, along with corresponding details such as type, load, size and more. These can be modified, with a small window requiring you to set values including for corrosion allowance, insulation, mill tolerance and a few others.
Several load scenarios can be applied to view how well the design performs under specified conditions. Four types of wind are available to trigger, or even static seismic loads. Values are entered manually so you might need a little documentation.
For a better management, you can choose to display only specific parts of the network in a separate window. Anchors, bends, valves, sections and materials are only a few possible choices. A more detailed table is created to view or edit values.
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Caepipe fully lives up to expectations, giving you the possibility to test out pipe networks in order to reduce or prevent disasters from literally blowing up an industry. The render window provides neat visual support, while the editing sections can be customized with measurement units and values so you get a proper result.
