If you’re stuck on what to add to your stream or just want a fun way to compete with your friends, Cardia is worth checking out!
This app connects to your heart rate monitor and shows off your vitals. It even creates a cool simulated ECG tracing that you can share during streams or include in gaming videos. Plus, it lets you connect with friends so you can compare heart rates in real-time.
Before diving in, you'll need a compatible device. Right now, Cardia supports the Zephyr HxM and Contec CMS50, along with some Bluetooth Smart devices.
The app generates a simulated ECG tracing for you. It even has a heartbeat sound effect that you can turn off if it’s not your thing! If you're streaming or making videos, you can clean up the screen by removing other interface elements, leaving just the ECG visible.
The coolest feature? Network mode! This allows up to four users to connect to a server and see each other's heart rates live. Everyone's ECG will pop up on their screens, and it’s easy to tell who’s who by entering names.
The network settings are super simple! You just choose between server and client modes and set up the server port and address.
Cardia brings something fresh to the table. It’s easy to set up and works well with popular devices. However, it could use more customization options for how the ECG looks beyond just color choices. Also, an “always on top” mode would be a great addition in future updates.
