CleanMe is a small Windows freebie created with the sole purpose of cleaning temporary files from your computer.

Pretty helpful if you’re trying to get rid of unnecessary files and thus save some space on the hard drives, CleanMe can deal with most temporary files, all of which can be easily selected from the main window.

The program’s GUI is split into two different panels, one that shows the available cleaning options and another one presenting information regarding the cleaning process.

CleanMe can take care of temporary Internet files, temporary files, downloads, logs, cookies, recently opened files information, Office temporary files, Recycle Bin items and temporary app data.

While the app runs smoothly on all Windows versions on the market, it obviously lacks some very important features and comes with absolutely no configuration options. This is quite a serious problem, especially because there are many apps out there on the market doing the same thing for free.

The good thing is that CleanMe completes the cleaning process in just a few minutes and you shouldn’t notice any impact on system performance. Administrator privileges are however required on Windows 7 workstations.

As a conclusion, CleanMe is a handy product that can help rookies get rid of unnecessary files without too much effort. There are many things to be improved, so it’s hard to believe that such a piece of software can really appeal to more experienced users.
