CleanMyPC Registry Cleaner is an application that can perform a defrag task on your Windows registry keys, in order to free up space.

Once you initiate the program with the user-friendly interface, you can backup the entire registry to prevent any problems that may occur. Besides defragmenting the registry, you can also scan it to fix any errors.

Thus, you can check the registry integrity, COM/Active, uninstall and font entries, shared DLLs, application paths, help files information, Windows startup items, file extensions, history list, software settings and file or path reference.

You can organize the programs that automatically run at system startup, manage Internet Explorer when it comes to the Browser Helper Objects (BHOs), as well as use a privacy eraser for the web browsers (e.g. visit history, cookies and cached files), Windows (e.g. temp folder, Recycle Bin) and common programs (e.g. MS Office recent file list).

But you can also set the tool to ignore missing files on removable devices, stop receiving pop ads with Messenger Service titles, create an exception list for the registry and use advanced tools found in Windows (e.g. disk cleanup and defragmenter, Registry Editor).

The program uses a moderate amount of system resources and contains a comprehensive help file with snapshots. Unfortunately, the trial version is limited and you cannot fix problems found in the registry. Also, a scanning task can take a while, during which your other processes may not properly respond.
