ClearProg is a compact tool that provides a dashboard from where the user can delete the traces a browser logs after web surfing sessions. It can also take care of local files like the Recycle Bin's contents, Start menu documents, temporary files, and data left behind by various MS Office programs. The program, however, is not new, and it was made for older systems like Windows XP, Vista, or 7, but it appears to work with the newest versions like Windows 10 or 11, but it may have stability issues.
ClearProg comes with a small UI that cannot be resized, only elongated. The upper half contains the supported browsers and locations from where it can delete data. When it comes to browsers, the app can handle Internet Explorer, Opera, and Mozilla Firefox. That is not much of a reach, taking into consideration today's browser diversity. For each browser, the user can select and delete cookies, cache, history, URLs, download lists, and auto-complete entries.
Before deleting information, ClearProg lets you preview the selected information. Click the preview button once you have selected at least one entry. A new window will pop up, listing all the items marked for deletion. If you are ready to remove what has been selected, click the Clear button. When everything is done, a log with all cleared files will be made available in the bottom-half pane.
Besides erasing browser data, the program can also remove file lists from Office programs like Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, FrontPage, and Publisher. If you are using Media Player, Real Player, Photo Editor 3, or MS Paint, the program can be used to sanitize these apps as well.
As for more OS-specific jobs, ClearProg can take care of temporary files, start menu entries and documents, and system-temp items.
ClearProg is a lightweight tool designed to help the user delete specific browser and system information from a centralized place. Also, it appears the program is aimed at users who are still running old versions of OS.
